Community and Cats: Immigration 101

  • Mewsic Kitty Cafe 2519 Nolensville Pike Nashville, TN, 37211 United States (map)

October’s event: With elections on the horizon, you hear daily about immigration. The Welcoming Tennessee Initiative (WTI) is a communications campaign that aims to create spaces for constructive dialogue on immigration, to restore civility to the immigration debate, and highlight the contributions that immigrants and refugees make to the community

Mewsic Kitty believes in fostering community and compassion through the universal loves of cats and music.

The aim of Cats and Community is to provide a safe atmosphere to learn about challenging and important social topics affecting our neighbors, near and far. Mewsic Kitty believes these subjects can be easier to approach in the company of loving kitties.

Cats and Community talks and trainings are provided for free with the generous time and knowledge of experts on the subjects.

Spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Space is limited so please do not sign up if you may not be able to attend. You may only reserve a spot for yourself (each individual has to sign up on their own.) Unless otherwise noted, these talks are primarily for adult audiences but some may be okay for teens.

These trainings last about 90 minutes, which includes time for Q&A and plenty of cat cuddles.
